I’m not sure if you guys will ever hear about any event in our life less than two months after it happens, haha! I am so bad about blogging things right after they happen. I probably could but I’m already behind so then things would be out of order! And we don’t like things out of order. So once again, here is a two-month late post for ya :) But once again, better late than never, right? Maybe I should rename my blog that – Better Late Than Never! Haha.
ANYWAYS…
WARNING: Before I
begin, there are a LOT of pictures in this post. So if you don't like pictures just stop here.
Continuing on…
So we have these
really cute great friends named Ryan and Natalie. We just love them. They live
two doors down from us and we love being so close to them! Except for I still
feel like we don’t see them often enough! They got married about a month after
us last year, so for our one year anniversary, we wanted to make a fun couples
trip out of it! (PS Yes there are two Nat’s. And two “babe”s – we have to be
really good at knowing our spouses voice :) it really is way less confusing
than it sounds). They had never been on a cruise, so being the smooth talkers
that we are, we talked them into one! Even the car-sick-prone-Ryan. It was
great.
They are both from
Palmdale in Southern California by LA. So we drove down together and stayed
with Ryans parents for a night, then left on our cruise the next day!
We loved Ryan’s
family – they are so sweet & fun!
After we got on the
boat (after a mad rush to get there, getting lost, squealing tires, and
actually remembering our ID’s, passports, tickets, etc. Believe me, we were
just glad they let us on the boat,) we just had tons of fun :)
Adios LA!
And welcome aboard
the Carnival Splendor
The
day we got on was April 22, our anniversary! So they sang to us. So
funny cause they have their cute little accents. They made us kiss after every line of "Happy Anniversary" and every time Ramon would say "kees! kees more!" I was laughin :)
After that, we pretty
much ate, and ate, and ate. Lots of food.
And slept (I still
don’t think they’ve ever seen this pic haha)
And laid out in the
sunshine! Ahh, so relaxing :)
Oh, and we saw a
whale! And I got a pic of it :)
Introducing Trent and
Ryan with their “GQ Poses.” I still don’t know what a GQ is but whatever floats
their boat. We have cute husbands. They are so funny together.
Here’s the cute
Giffords:
Waiting to get off
the boat to go to Cabo!!
This guy was so
funny. He was wearing a U of U shirt and we were like hey we are from Utah! So
he gave us a good “Utah deal.” After meeting tons of people on the boat and
realizing half the boat was from Utah, we think they do that on purpose to get
business haha. But it was still funny. We even heard one guy say “LDS
discount?!”
Nat with some gold
guy that totally freaked us out
Cabo is SOOO
beautiful
We went to my
favorite beach ever – Lovers Beach.
We thought it was an
opportune moment to catch a pic, so we got one
Then Nat and I wanted
one
Then Ryan and Trent
decided they wanted one too. This was awarded our favorite picture of the trip
award. Do you see what dorks we were with!?
Cave on Lovers Beach
I like this pic that
Trent took with his GoPro!
So if you haven’t
been to Lovers Beach, it is beautiful and warm and tons of fish to see and
awesome. You can go on a glass bottom boat and they take you around to look at
the seals and all the pretty rock formations and stuff!
They also take you to
the other side of Lovers Beach, which is called Divorce Beach (funny I know).
But there is a reason! It is so dangerous! The undertow is insane, it will pull
you right under. And instead of the waves crashing on the water, they crash on
the sand. So if you are in a wave, best of luck to ya.
They even have signs
to notify tourists of the danger!
But some locals, and
some crazy tourists, did get in. And it was scary to watch!
And of course trent
had to talk to him. It is seriously one of my favorite things to hear him speak
Spanish. I don’t know why, I just love it.
It
is still beautiful though
We
felt daring enough to eat at a legit Mexican place while we had the chance. I’m
not big into Mexican food, so I didn’t really like it, but the others said it
was good!
Turns
out Ryan gets burned really easily. Poor fella! The funny part is this is from
the very first day on the boat when he was laying out for 45 minutes, so he was
FRIED from the first day we got off the boat! Funny, but sad. Don’t worry, we
all had our turn.
We
had two days in Cabo, so this was day 2! We shopped a lot at the markets, where
I bought the first item of clothing for our future child. It was irresistible.
I just couldn’t help it. So maybe in a few years you’ll see a pic of a cute lil
blondie wearing this cute lil dress.
Anyways,
I also held this crazy thing
And
we went Parasailing!!!
Wahoo!
I have wanted to go parasailing my whole life, and I finally got to go! It was even a cute yellow smiley face just for me!

This
is before…
During…
Our
cute little towel animals haha
And
my cute husband
Remember
how I said we all got turn being burned? Well of course I never learn, and my
nose gets burned SO bad every year. I know, that is SO bad. But even if I put
sunscreen on, it still gets fried. I am trying to do better though! But my nose
got FRIED. Like blistery bad. Trent thought it was funny that I was icing it,
for like an hour! Haha.
Meanwhile…
Nat and I are in the middle of preparing for our half marathon. (Post about
that to come… in two months… ;) haha) On one of the days at sea, it was our
last chance to do a long run before our actual race. So we forced ourselves to
go up on the top of the ship in the middle of the windiest day of my life and
run TEN MILES. Yes that’s correct, we ran a HUNDRED laps around that forsaken
track. But we did it. And this is what we looked like after, embarrassing I
know. We were winded (haha get it?).
Next
Stop: Puerto Vallarta!
I
had been here twice before but this time was different for some reason. I never
remembered it being SO beautiful and huge! We wished we would have had two days
here, cause it is so much bigger and so much more to do! But we got a lot done
in one day :) We had a blast here!
We
decided to do something we all had never done before (well, in Mexico) - Horseback riding! We thought it would be fun,
but it was SO much fun.
First
Nat and I had to get ourselves some cowgirl hats though :)
We
went up a canyon in the mountains in the middle of this random neighborhood. We
went on a private tour so it was nice to just have us 4 and our 2 leaders! They
were so laid back and fun! They only spoke a tiny bit of English, so we were
glad to have Trent the Translator! They were awesome though.
We
followed a stream up for a while until we got to this awesome deeper part, a
pool they call it?, with a rope swing and stuff! This was my favorite part!
We only took a long video of us doing the rope swing, and we figured that would be too boring for you guys to put right here so we will leave it up to your imagination :)
When
we got back Trent and I walked on the beautiful beach! It was so pretty and so
fun. We didn’t want to go back to the boat!
Then
we had formal night!
I
just love all the servers and staff members! They are all so cute and fun! They
have a song after dinner every night and make us all get up and dance! Nat was
all over that :)
Oh
my gosh. This melting cakes makes you think you have died and gone to heaven.
Nat and I got it every single night, and I had some serious withdrawal problems
the few days after we got back. Seriously, you have to try it someday.
Nat
and I thought we’d play a little round of ... whatever this is. No, we really
just saw our husbands and wanted them to think we were playing it. You can’t
really see it but I was all trying to touch the screen and Nat whispers to me
“Nat, it’s not a touch screen!” haha!
We
had to get ice cream like twice or three times a day. Mmm.
And
one night all 4 of us played phase 10. I wish I had gotten a pic of it! But we
forgot to get a paper and pen to keep score, so Mr. Economics-Major-Ryan is all
“how about we use the sugar packets as a monetary system!?” So we did. The
yellow ones were one point, the pink ones were 10 points, the blue ones were
50, etc. Haha. Aw, fun memories.
Here’s
us on the last night with our cute servers Ramon and Andres.
